World Matchplay Darts Betting Preview

The World Matchplay darts tournament sponsored by Skybet is about to hit our screens live from The Winter Gardens in Blackpool. A £100,000 prize is up for grabs in this years renewal. Phil Taylor is once again a hot favourite but has he lost his air of invincibility?

Sponsors Skybet make Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor 11/8 favourite to take the spoils, but he faces a number of players in great form and is going to have to be on top of his game if he is going to retain the trophy he has made his own.

Taylor has won the last three renewals of the Matchplay and has won the event a total of eleven times in the last 15 years!

Current World Champion and Phil Taylor protege Adrian Lewis appears to have a very easy draw all the way to the semi final and can be backed at a large looking 10/1@Stanjames.

Gary Anderson, who looks to be the next king of the oche one ‘The Power’ retires can be backed @13/2 with Paddy Power. Anderson appears to have all the characteristics of a future champion and is good value for at least the semi finals.

John Part deserves a mention as he has been in good form of late and can be backed at a huge 70/1@ Stan James.

Grand Slam winner James Wade seems to have beaten his demons and is sure to make the latter stages of the tournament. He is currently available at 9/1 with Skybet.

Paul Nicholson is another player in great recent form and is absolutely huge at 40/1 with Paddy Power.
