Portsmouth v Ipswich
Pompey have played 4 away games on the spin without much success, but they return to Fratton Park here for a match against Ipswich which has the potential for a good few goals.Portsmouth lost 1-0 to table toppers West Ham in their last game on home turf, but boasted an unbeaten run of 7 games unbeaten at Fratton Park prior to that game, scoring 14 goals in the process.
Opponents Ipswich have also got amongst the goals recently; they’ve scored 8 in their last 2 games, and have scored and conceded in all of their last 6 matches, making Both Teams to Score a very likely outcome here.
Watford v Leicester
The Hornets are 3 games in to a nice unbeaten run, and their improved recent form has elevated them to the relative safety of 16th position in the league.
They’ve picked up some good results at home and can make it a run of 7 successive home goals galore games here against Leicester.
Leicester haven’t lived up to their pre season billing of potential league champions, but are improving rapidly under the guidance of Nigel Pearson.
The Foxes are scoring more goals lately, and wins over Southampton(3-0) and Cardiff(2-1) show they are getting better.
Watford have kept just 2 clean sheets at Vicarage Road this season, and Leicester have the quality to grab a couple here.
Colchester v Brentford
Brentford do their best work on the road, while Colchester have drawn a blank just once at home this season, making this game an obvious choice.
The Bee’s have scored 7 in their last 2 games, and Colchester have kept only 2 clean sheets in their last 10 at home.
These teams played out a 1-1 draw in the reverse fixture at Griffin Park back in September and I’m expecting even more goals out of this game.
The statistics show that this game has all the ingredients for a possible goal fest, making them the third leg of my treble.
The above 3 fixtures will be my bet of the evening but other games that rank as decent goals galore games are:
- Wycombe v Yeovil
- Northampton v AFC Wimbledon
- Bradford v Port Vale
