After England’s biggest recorded win since 1987 against the lowest ranked international team in the world, they definitely face a tougher World Cup qualifying challenge on Tuesday against the current group leaders Montenegro.
Alessandro Della Valle’s 12th minute own goal set England on their way to a staggering 8-0 victory over San Marino last week with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jermain Defoe, Ashley Young, Frank Lampard, Wayne Rooney and Daniel Sturridge all making onto the score sheet.
This week however will see Rooney’s return to the City Stadium in Podgorica, where his last visit here saw him leaving the pitch early facing a red card after building up an enormous amount of frustration due to the Montenegro players toying with his temperament.
England team mate Joleon Lescott said “Wayne Rooney will step into the City Stadium in Podgorica tomorrow night a calmer individual more able to handle the pressure of a high-stakes qualifying game in a hostile atmosphere”
