Thanksgiving NFL Tips Thursday 22nd Nov: Texans Can Tame Lousy Lions

Thanksgiving day on Thursday the 22nd of November and we have three games of NFL to get our teeth sunk into.

The first game I’m going to preview is the early game between the Houston Texans and the Detroit Lions which starts at 17.30 bst .

The Texans got a huge kick up the behind last week when they nearly lost to one the league’s worst teams when they needed overtime to get the upper hand on the Jaguars, giving up 37 points in the process even with them missing their best player. They should really bounce back this week with a big bang especially as we are getting nearer the post season.

The Lions pretty much handed last week’s game to the Packers when mistakes really cost them at crucial times towards the end of the matchup. They have been like this all season which is why they are 4-6 and are really struggling to make the playoffs. They have a decent QB who makes the odd mistake, also they have one of the best WR ‘s in the game in Calvin Johnson so they have the weapons to put up points.

Second game of this Thanksgiving Thursday is the Washington Redskins and the Dallas Cowboys which starts at 21.15 bst .

Dallas had to recover from a 13 point deficit against a very poor Cleveland side last week, but their kicker came through forcing overtime with 2 seconds left in regulation and then winning it in overtime with a field goal; getting them out of jail big time. They will need to be much better this week.

Washington had an absolutely superb game against the Eagles last week when they were in a different league and their QB stole the show being the leading rusher and only making one in-completion in 15 attempts, their defence should also have a field day against a team that is well known for turnovers.

Third and final game of the day is between the New England Patriots and the New York Jets which starts at 01.20am bst .

New England gave an absolute pounding to the Colts last week putting up nearly 60 points. This will be a much tougher test as the Jets are coming off a good win themselves, but in Tom Brady and the Gronk they should have too much for the Jets in this contest.
