The last game of the season usually brings a few goals and that’s exactly what…
Both Teams To Score Tips September 16th – Expect Goals At Griffin Park
Our midweek schedule offers a feast of football as Champions League matches are supplemented by a packed fixture league from the English Football League.
We’ve pinpointed these three games as potential goal-fests and hope they’ll provide us with plenty of entertainment.
At odds of 9/2 with Bet365, have a bang on that!
Monaco V Bayer Leverkusen
Champions League football returns tonight and one of the more intriguing ties comes from the Stade Louis II as Monaco face Bayer Leverkusen.
Having spent all that money to get back into Europe’s elite competition, the French club allowed their key assets to depart this summer with Colombian duo Radamel Falcao and James Rodriguez leading the exodus of players.
The plight of Monaco is almost beyond belief and there is no way they are going to trouble in this competition now. Nevertheless, they still remain a fairly competent side and can hope for a positive result against the Germans.
Despite progressing the group phase last term it is worth noting that the Germans shipped 10 goals during those six games. A change of manager may alter things slightly but the home side will take heart from Bayer’s poor defensive record in 2013-14. On home soil, they should look to utilise this to full effect.
Nevertheless, the Germans did qualify last season and are probably in a better shape now than this time 12 months ago. They should have more than enough to claim a result against a fallen home side who now sit 19th in the Ligue 1 standings.
When it comes to the reverse meeting, the Germans will be fully expected to triumph. However, home advantage does afford Monaco a chance. Back both teams to score.

Brentford V Norwich City
In the Championship, two of the season’s early pacesetters collide at Griffin Park as the Bees look to sting the Canaries. However, Norwich are in great form and could be singing their way to another three points.
Whilst Norwich’s strong form was largely expected, the home side have definitely exceeded expectations so far and a return of 11 points sees them occupy a play-off place at this premature stage. The Bees have notched nine goal already, with five of those coming on home turf.
However, they have additionally shipped four at Griffin Park and a rampant Norwich will be expected to at least net one during the evening’s proceedings. Neil Adams has already seen his side hit 12 goals in just six Championship matches and with Lewis Grabban already reaching the five-goal milestone it can be assumed that the Canaries will pose an attacking threat throughout – even with Gary Hooper expected to sit on the sidelines once more.
This is probably the toughest challenge that Mark Warburton’s side have faced so far but they can be optimistic about their chances after picking up a 3-2 weekend win over Brighton. Brentford have already shown that they can mix it up with the big teams and we think they’ll score again here.
Unfortunately, that in itself may not be enough to get any points.

MK Dons V Bradford City
The MK Dons have hit a real purple patch of late and sit third in the League One standings. Karl Robinson’s men will look to make it three league wins on the bounce as they welcome Bradford City to the Stadium: MK.
In addition to their superb league form, they also claimed that historic win over Manchester United in the Capital One Cup. It’s 11 goals in three games for the Dons and they likes of Benik Afobe and Bamideli Ali will be in extremely high spirits heading into this contest.
Despite losing their last two matches, the Bantams have actually started quite well themselves and are only three points below their opponents. Equally important is the fact they’ve been scoring in defeat and that will lend confidence to Phil Parkinson’s side – as will last season’s corresponding victory.
That thrilling encounter ended in a 3-2 win for the visitors. Another five-goal game would suit us just fine.
