Serie A week 23 predictions 1st/2nd February – Goals Likely To Flow In Naples
After supporting Inter Milan and following Italy’s Serie A for almost 20 years now I know the league as well as anyone possibly can. Each week on TVBet I’m going bring to you my predictions on the upcoming fixtures in the league. I will base my predictions on my knowledge of the teams, their position in the table, and also by evaluating their form from the previous six games.
Week 23 of the 2012/13 Serie A season starts on Friday evening with just the one match:
AS Roma v Cagliari (K/O 19:45 GMT)
Roma’s coach Zeman has recently been under fire for the weak performances of his squad. Winning just one game and losing three out of the last six, the team are quickly losing sight of the European qualifying places. This game against a Cagliari side in similar form could turn out to be a much tighter affair than it should be, even so I believe Roma should have enough fire power to secure a 2-1 victory.
Selection – Roma to win (4/9 Sky Bet)
Saturday Fixtures
Saturday sees two fixtures being played:
Torino v Sampdoria (K/O 17:00 GMT)
Following Torino’s confidence boosting draw against Inter last week, I believe they are in a much better position to claim a victory against the visiting Sampdoria, who despite claiming a win last week have currently lost half of the matches played this season. The final result I predict will be a 2-0 win for the home side.
Selection – Torino to win (21/20 Sky Bet)
Napoli v Catania (K/O 19:45 GMT)
This game sees the two most in-form teams in Italy go head to head as 2nd place Napoli take on 7th place Catania. Napoli sit just three points behind league leaders Juventus and will be looking to keep the pressure on the top spot. Catania on the other hand have been performing above all expectations this season and will most definitely give the home side a good battle. Napoli should however prevail and I see them winning 3-2.
Selection – Over 3.5 goals to be scored (6/5 Sky Bet)
