Premier League Darts 2016 Live: Week 6 Preview & Betting
Thursday 10th March. 7PM. Sky Sports 1
Week six of this year’s Premier League darts comes live from the Motorport Arena in Nottingham, and it should be an absolute cracker as all 10 stars take to the oche.
If the weekend’s Coral UK Open action is anything to go by, we should be in for a thrilling night of drama. With a little bit of luck, we’ll be bashing the bookies too.
Let’s play darts!

Can Mighty Mike Continue His Fine Form?
Thursday’s headline match sees current leader Michael van Gerwin take on Dave Chisnall. If last year’s runner-up is on form in Nottingham, it could be a very tough night for Chizzy indeed.
A fortnight ago, MVG stunned Aberdeen with an incredible 123 three-dart average. The phenomenal Dutchman then followed that up with an equally dominant display against Peter Wright last week before winning the weekend’s UK Open. Might Mike also registered a nine-darter at the weekend to further underline his quality.
Chizzy hasn’t picked up the results, but he has been competitive in every match. His three-dart average is only bettered by Van Gerwin and Phil Taylor while he has also registered an impressive 21 maximums.
Anything can happen over 12 legs. Nonetheless, if Van Gerwin continues his current form where everything he throws turns to gold, then there will only be one winner.
Barney v Wade Should Be A Cracker
There’s no doubt that MVG is the main attraction on the PDC roster right now, but Thursday night’s offering also provides four mouth-watering matches that don’t include the current leader.
Arguably, the most exciting clash sees fellow Dutchman Raymond van Barneveld take on James Wade. The five-time world champion could really do with a win after last week’s loss to Michael Smith. However, he could be in for a tough test against The Machine, who has been very entertaining since earning his return to the Premier League tour.
Smith, meanwhile, will be pleased to have ended his duck last week but knows he is in for a tough one against defending champion Gary Anderson in Nottingham. After all, the Flying Scotsman still has plenty of work to do following his slow start.
Rock bottom Robert Thornton is in desperate need of a first win of the tournament. Unfortunately, high-flying Phil Taylor is unlikely to make it east. With Adrian Lewis facing Peter Wright in another potentially thrilling battle, we should expect to see a night of intense drama.
Bring it on!
Premier League Darts: Week 6 Betting
Last week, we wrongly predicted that Michael van Gerwin would surpass his personal highest checkout line. Unfortunately, his best effort of 100 fell short of the line, but we think he’ll bounce back in style against Chizzy.
If Might Mike continues to perform as he has, he’ll almost certainly register seven legs. After his weekend antics, we’d certainly fancy at least one to be bigger than 109.5.
Meanwhile, we’ll be back on the Betfred acca insurance too and are hopeful of repeating our feat of two weeks ago by landing another huge five-fold.
Remember, we will get a refund if only one selection lets us down. But forget that because we’re gonna land the jackpot once more!
