Premier League Darts 2016 Live: Week 11 Preview & Betting
Thursday 14th April. 7PM. Sky Sports 1
Premier League darts is back in Belfast this week as the eight remaining stars head to the SSE Arena for what should be another phenomenal night of arrows.
Just five weeks separate us from the finals night in London and the race for a top four finish is getting fiercer by the round. The Belfast crowd will be buzzing, and we’ll be hoping to capitalise on that energy with a couple of winning bets too.
Game on!

Last Chance Saloon For Barney & Thornton
There might be five weeks of action remaining, but time is quickly running out for the bottom two. However, both men will step up to the oche twice in Belfast, including a headline clash against each other.
For Robert Thornton, only two wins will do. The Thorn boasts just four points so far and opens up his big night against Peter Wright. Meanwhile, Raymond van Barneveld will be looking to increase his tally of seven points by overcoming his old rival Phil Taylor. That might not be easy for Barney, though, especially as The Power sits top of the pile with 18 points.
Whatever happens, the headline match between Barney and Thornton will be must win territory. It was the Dutchman that sealed a 7-5 victory back in round three. In truth, most neutrals would like him to win again as he has a far greater chance of challenging for finals night than his opponent.
The Thorn certainly won’t go down without a fight. Expect fireworks.
Can MVG Bounce Back From Sunday?
Mighty Michael van Gerwin suffered a shock 6-0 defeat to Ian White in Sunday’s Players Championship Five final in Barnsley, but last year’s runner-up will be eager to take another positive step towards final night with a big win in Belfast.
The young Dutch master certainly won’t have it easy as he takes on defending champ Gary Anderson, especially as the Flying Scotsman still has work to do to reach finals night at the O2. Quite frankly, it could be the highlight of the tournament so far.
Last, but certainly not least, James Wade takes on Adrian Lewis in what could be a crucial contest for settling the race for May 19th. Both men join Anderson on 13 points so far and two points could be the catalyst for helping the winner progress. However, it wouldn’t be at all surprising if this best of 12 ends all square at 6-6.
Belfast expects, and so do we. Things could be about to kick into overdrive. Do not miss it!
Premier League Darts: Week 11 Betting
At this stage of the competition, anybody can beat anybody. Nevertheless, we’ll be hoping to increase our overall profits for the tournament with a couple of predictions here.
Our main bet of the night comes from Barney’s first match. Unfortunately for the Dutchman, we can’t see him overcoming the in-form Taylor.
The Power has been brilliant in recent weeks and can pretty much guaranteed his place in London with two points here. We think he’ll do it with plenty of breathing space.
Once again, we’ll be trying to capitalise on the Betfred acca insurance by predicting the result of all five matches. Our previous winner on this coupon paid roughly the same odds as this punt, so let’s hope that’s a lucky omen.
Good luck!
