Mikey’s Saturday Night Baseball Bets 28th July: Two Singles & A Double

Well 12 out of 13 winning bets is not to be sniffed at after last night’s win we are back on the winning road and hope to get another great run going.

Plenty to choose from in tonight’s matchup’s and for a change I’m going for a couple of single bets and a double on games I think offer great value.

First bet comes in the game between the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox which starts at 21.05pm BST and is on ESPN America if anyone wants to watch the action.

The Yankees send ace left hander CC Sabathia to the mound; he has made 2 starts since a stint on the DL giving up only 3 runs in 13 innings of work striking out 12 in the process.

The Sox send not so ace left hander Jon Lester to the hill. He has been awful of late; going 0-3 with a 10.42 era in 3 starts in the month of July and I don’t expect that to get any better tonight.

The Yankees have owned the Sox this year 6-1 and I expect their superiority to continue tonight especially as Sox ace slugger David Ortiz is still on the DL.

Second bet tonight comes in the game between the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Houston Astros which starts at 12.05am BST and sees Pirates new pitcher Wandy Rodriguez take his first trip to the mound against his old team who he made 227 appearances for.

He has struggled with the ball this year but I think we have to recognise he was with a team that has really struggled to put runs on the board. He has now gone to a club that is genuinely contending and can put serious runs on the board and I expect his first game to be one to remember for him.

Astros send Armando Galarraga to the hill, who like Rodriguez, is playing his first game for the Astros after being called up from AAA and taking over Wandy’s spot in the rotation, he pretty much struggled in AAA and I expect him to get a rude welcome back to the big’s tonight against the Pirates.
