Football Double Tuesday 29th May – Russia Look Strong Against Lithuania In Switzerland
After yet another winning Scandinavian football double, the Euro 2012 betting bank is looking increasingly healthy. Without much going on in that neck of the woods today, I’ve checked out some of Tuesday’s international friendlies and this is where my best bet of the day comes from.
Russia take on Lithuania in a warm up game in Switzerland, while Bulgaria take on Turkey in Austria. Neither Bulgaria or Turkey have made it to the Euro 2012 finals, but both will be looking to improve their fortunes for the World Cup qualifying campaign which begins in September.
Lithuania v RUSSIA 6.45 pm (1/3)
This is Russia’s penultimate warm up friendly before their first Euro 2012 group game against Czech Republic on the 8th June, and I fully expect them to beast Lithuania with the minimum of fuss.
Russia are undefeated in their last 12 internationals, and considered favourites to qualify as winners from Group A in this summers tournament. Their squad consists of some quality players – the majority of which ply their trade at Zenith St. Petersburg or CSKA Moscow.
Lithuania failed to qualify for Euro 2012, and have been very disappointing overall; losing to the likes of Liechtenstein, Scotland, and a heavy 4-1 loss in their latest game against the Czech Republic, who are not the team they used to be.
BULGARIA OR DRAW (double chance) v Turkey 7.00pm (4/5)
Neither team has qualified for Euro 2012, and this game will be considered a warm up for the 2014 qualifying campaign which begins in September.
With both teams disappointing in the Euro 2012 qualifiers, it may pay to look at their most recent performances, which have been experimental for future games, and it’s Bulgaria that impress the most.
After drawing against Hungary back in February, Bulgaria shocked Holland by beating them 2-1 last weekend, and that may be the boos they required to go on to better things.
Turkey are inconsistent at best; Their 3-1 win over Georgia last week was quickly followed by a 3-2 loss to minnows Finland.
This match is being played in Austria, and Bulgaria should be able to cause Turkey a few problems, and possibly even beat them- making Bulgaria/draw double chance look a stand out bet here.
Today’s double pays best at Stan James, with a £10 bet paying £23.90
