Fiorentina V Napoli Live – Who will lift Coppa Italia trophy?
Fiorentina V Napoli – Saturday 3rd May. 8:00PM. Live streaming on Bet 365
Juventus may have walked away with the Scudetto title, but the Coppa Italia final is set to be a much closer encounter as Fiorentina face Napoli in Saturday’s showpiece final.
These two sit third and fourth respectively in the Serie A standings and are amongst the best clubs in Italy right now. With the prize of a major trophy on offer, both teams will be raring to go for this final.
It should be a thrilling affair, and it’s live on Bet365.
All Roads Lead To Rome
Sunday’s final will be the seventh to be played at the capital’s Stadio Olimpico since the competiton reverted back to the one-leg contest, and the whole of Italy will be watching.
On route to the final, Napoli have certainly had the more difficult run. While Fiorentina faced the relatively easy competition of Atalanta, Siena and Udinese, Napoli had to overcome both Rome clubs to reach Saturday’s showpiece event.
Rafa Benitez’s side also had to come from a goal down, having lost the semi-final first leg 3-2 in this stadium. However, Napoli turned the heat on in that crucial second-leg to claim a 5-3 aggregate win over the Gillorossi.
Napoli are virtually guaranteed Champions League qualification thanks to their decent form in Serie A and would see a fifth Coppa Italia win as the perfect way to cap a productive season.
Fiorentina Looking For First Trophy In 13 Years
While Napoli won lifted the Coppa Italia just two seasons ago, Fiorentina haven’t won this trophy since 2001. In fact, that was the Viola’s last major honour.
Fiorentina are still a long way short of Serie A’s elite, but they have at least threatened to break into the Champions League this season. However, Napoli are virtually guaranteed to secure that third and final place in Europe’s main competition – winning the Coppa would at least offer some sort of consolation.
Vincenzo Montella’s men enter the final in good form too, having won three of their last four matches in Serie A. Most recently, they claimed a comfortable 3-0 victory at struggling Bologna and if they can continue that form then they’ll at least give Napoli a really tough challenge.
The news of Gonzalo Higuain’s potential absence through injury will also add to Fiorentina’s hopes, as the Napoli striker is undoubtedly one of the biggest threats to the Viola defence. However, in Guiseppe Rossi they boast their own superstar striker and can be confident of really pushing their opponents all the way.
Whatever happens, it should be an intriguing encounter.
Fiorentina V Napoli Live Stream & Betting
Saturday’s showdown is being broadcast live on Bet365’s in-play console and the bookmaker have installed Napoli as the 6/5 pre-game favourites, with Fiorentina at 9/4. If you think this year’s final will go to extra-time then the draw can be backed at 23/10.
With the game being streamed live, punters thinking about a first goalscorer bet may wish to hold off for the first few minutes. However, Napoli’s Jose Callejon has already bagged three goals in this competition this term and will be confident of adding to that tally to finish as the competition’s leading scorer.
Callejon also scored away at Fiorentina in the league, one of 13 Serie A goals for the Spaniard this term, and could be a great shout to open the scoring here.
Jose Callejon first goalscorer is 15/2 with Bet365
Meetings between these two sides tend to be quite close affairs. Only two of the past 12 meetings has seen a winning margin of over one goal. Similarly, only two of the six one-legged finals has seen a margin of victory greater than one.
Napoli will be favourites to lift the trophy, but could be pushed all the way.
