Double Chance Selections 23rd Feb – PAOK can hold Udinese

After getting my confidence back with a nice little double chance winner the other day, I’m looking at the Europa League tonight to bring another winning pick. I advise caution when betting on these two legged knock out ties, as when it gets to the second tie, some teams just don’t seem interested. It’s best to stick to games that still hang in the balance- and both games I’ve chosen tonight do.

PAOK v Udinese 1 or X 6.00pm

PAOK exceeded expectations by holding Udinese 0-0 in the first leg last week, ans they can again cause a stir on home soil this time.

The Greek side are solid enough at home and their defeats at domestic level have been limited to just Olympiakos and Panathinaikos.

While they have no hope of challenging for the Greek title (3rd position, 15 points behind Olympiakos) they are still a very tough side to beat, even more so at home.

PAOK beat Tottenham at White Hart Lane as well as drawing at home to both Spurs and Rubin Kazan at group stage.

It’s very safe to say that Udinese are not at their best while on their travels. They haven’t won an away game in this competition, and have won just 2 of 11 road games in Serie A.

PAOK will believe they can progress, and with the draw covered in the double chance bet, I’m also confident of this selection.

Besiktas v Braga X or 2 8.05pm

Besiktas did very well to beat their opponents 2-0 in Portugal last week but I have a sneaky suspicion they won’t have things all their own way in Turkey tonight.

Braga just didn’t turn up last week and are a much better team than they showed.

Besiktas have been really struggling for league form recently, and their lacking performances have more or less eliminated them from the title race.

Braga are still mixing it with the big boys in the Portuguese league, and their title hopes are still alive. A couple of goals here is not an impossibility and at the odds I’m taking Braga to get something out if this game.
