Champions League Tips Wed 3rd Oct – More Special Bets After Great Success
Well yesterday was one of the best days I’ve ever had in a single 24 hour period. The 7/2 Goals Galore treble came in, Chelsea scored in both halves for a 6/5 winner, there was a goal in both halves in the Bayern game for an 8/13 winner, and I won 4 of the 5 inplay Asian handicap bets that I posted on the Facebook group.
Today sees less fixtures, but there is still great value to be had in the specials betting markets that I mentioned yesterday. Here are my bets for today:
Ajax v Real Madrid 7.45pm
Bet: Real Madrid to score in both halves – Evens Paddy Power
Ajax are a great team to watch when playing at home in Europe. Domestically, the Amsterdam Arena is a fortress, but in Europe Ajax are vulnerable. They have one style of play, and it’s not particularly suited to playing the cream of Europe, which Real Madrid certainly are.
In fact, there is plenty of recent history between these two teams in Europe. Real Madrid beat their opponents 4-0 in this exact fixture in the 2010/11 competition, and also returned last season to take a 3-0 victory.
Real Madrid haven’t started the season particularly well, but beating Manchester City a fortnight ago seems to have given them the boost they require, and the evens about them scoring in both halves of this game is an absolute gift.
Schalke v Montpellier 7.45pm
Bet: Schalke to win race to 2 goals – 8/11 Ladbrokes
Schalke are goalscoring machines, and they are a great price to win the race to 2 goals against Montpellier tonight. The French side are a shadow of their title winning team of last season, and main striker Oliver Giroud is of course at Arsenal.
Schalke’s only home loss in the Champions League in the last 4 years was against Manchester United (0-2) but they had won their previous 6 games; scoring 2 or more on 5 occasions.
Montepellier were beaten 2-1 by Arsenal at home a fortnight ago, and only scored by way of penalty. Schalke have the pedigree and experience to brush these aside, and should win the race to 2 goals without fuss.
