This year’s Cheltenham Festival has proven to be something of a bloodbath for most punters (myself very much included) so far, but right from the start of the week I felt the best was being saved for last in terms of betting opportunities.

Schalke entertain Galatasaray in the second-leg of their last 16 Champions League tie on Tuesday, and the Bundesliga outfit are in pole position to progress to the next round by virtue of the away goal they gained in Turkey last month.

Jens Keller will have been delighted with the 1-1 draw in Istanbul, the interim coach’s first taste of this competition as a manager, and Schalke are now unbeaten in five matches against Turkish opposition.
