Both Teams To Score And Match Result Coupon 28th Sept – The Bet That Can Win you Thousands For Pennies
THE WILLIAM HILL BTTS & MATCH RESULT COUPON – 28th September
As some of you may already be aware, William Hill have recently introduced a new slip – ‘The BTTS & Match Result Coupon’ – and, whilst at an initial glance I’d dismissed it as nothing more than a ploy to gain an extra couple of quid from casual Saturday punters, it is actually one that many people are winning very decent returns from very small stakes.
Twitter and FaceBook have been swamped with photographs of winning slips that have seen punters returning up to £500 from as little as a £2 stake. Of course there will be hundreds of losing slip for every 250/1 success, but nonetheless it is definitely a coupon worth playing for small stakes.
Essentially you are selecting one side to win (or you can also back the draw) AND both teams to score. At first, the alarm bells ring as you are backing two events to happen within the same match. However, with the magnitude of the odds increase, there is definitely value to be had so long as you don’t get too greedy.

As an extreme example, Real Madrid could be ¼ favourites to win a game and yet the BTTS & Match Result coupon will have them priced somewhere between evens and 2/1. Long term, the latter definitely represents the better value.
If nothing else, it’s a little piece of excitement when watching the results on Gillette Soccer Saturday and will only cost a couple of pound to play.
Here are my selections for this week. Good luck.
DOUBLE:
BURNLEY (vs Charlton) High-flying Burnley are second in The Championship and will be expected to beat Chris Powell’s Charlton. However, The Addicks have scored 7 in 7 so know where the net is. The home side have scored 14 times already there and would be confident of the win even if they do concede here.
WIMBLEDON (vs Cheltenham) The Dons have been the surprise package in League 2 thus far and proudly sit third. It seems like those final day worries last season have been put well behind them and if this form continues then they’ll soon be dreaming of automatic promotion. Meanwhile, Cheltenham too have loved a goal this season having scored 11 times already. Unfortunately for them, they’ve also conceded 19 and subsequently find themselves just two places above the dreaded line. The stats suggest goals in this one, whilst the standings strongly lean towards an away victory. However, this is the fourth tier and simply anything could happen.
If both selections win, this double returns 24.2/1.
FOUR FOLD:
WATFORD (v Wigan): The Hornets are scoring over 2 goals a game whilst conceding on average at least once a match. Meanwhile, Wigan aren’t exactly a bad side and are certainly capable of scoring. The result probably worries me more than the BTTS aspect but with Wigan preparing for their first ever home European tie on Thursday, there is a possibility that players will be distracted and so I’m going for the home win.
QPR (v Middlesbrough): It was Jonathan Woodgate’s 83rd minute own goal that cost me winning a 225/1 4 fold on my last attempt at this coupon. That game ended 3-3 and is a good barometer of where Boro are at right now. QPR have enjoyed a great start to the campaign and sit top of the pile. They’ve only conceded twice so far but I fancy them to let in their third of the season here.
WOLVES (vs Sheff Utd): Wolves are the better side and should win this one. Nonetheless, it is a huge game for the third tier and the atmosphere at Molineaux will be immense. Due to the importance of the match amongst supporters, this could well be a very open end-to-end encounter and therefore I predict that The Blades will find the net. Unfortunately for them, I still think quality will shine through and Wolves take all three points.
PETERBOROUGH (vs Rotherham): Even after eight games, these two have scored a combined total of 37 goals. Going forward, Peterborough have a partnership of Assombalonga and Tomlin who are in fantastic form and have already found the net on 15 occasions between them. Rotherham are in fine form and have yet to lose but I can see that streak coming to an abrupt end here; but they should at least score.
Odds on this one are an incredible 399.4/1! Fingers crossed.
