Benfica V Porto Live Streaming – Watch & Bet On Friday’s O Classico
Benfica V Porto
Friday 12th February. 8:30PM. Live Streaming available at Bet365
It’s the big one in Portugal on Friday night as rivals Benfica and Porto do battle in what is a crucial contest for deciding the fate of this season’s Primeira Liga title.
As well as home advantage, the hosts boast a six point lead over their fierce rivals. However, a shock win for the visitors would bring them right back into the title frame. With second-placed Sporting Lisbon keeping an eye on things too, it should be a truly dramatic night at the stadio da Luz.
And you can watch the drama unfold live on Bet365.
Benfica Out For A 9th Straight Win
The champions have enjoyed a wonderful campaign so far and are on track to win a 35th title judging by their recent level of performance. Aguias have won eight league games on the spin heading into Friday’s battle, dropping just two points from the last available 42.
Rui Vitoria’s men have been potent in front of goal too, with the deadly duo of Jonas and Kostas Mitroglou netting an impressive 34 goals between them. Meanwhile, the hosts can also take heart from the fact they’ve not lost to Porto in five home head-to-head matches.
Whilst they have an advantage over their opponents, Benfica can’t take things easy in this game as Sporting are level on points heading into matchday 22. However, a win here would virtually end Porto’s chances while simultaneously firing a warning to their title rivals in Lisbon.
If they play like they have in recent weeks, Benfica have every reason to be confident. From a neutral perspective, let’s hope they deliver.
Porto Ready To Pounce?
Sunday’s shock home loss to Arouca has really damaged Porto’s momentum as, had they won that game, they could’ve gone joint top with a win at the Estadio da Luz. Instead, Jose Peseiro’s men make the trip to Benfica knowing that only a win will do.
The visitors are capable of getting it if they perform to the optimum level. Vincent Aboubakar is arguably one of the division’s best strikers on his day whilst Jesus Corona will hope to become their savour too.
At the other end, Porto will be relying on the experience of Iker Casillas to help them to a positive result. The Spaniard has had some shaky moments at the Do Dragao, but he could really vindicate his summer move with a starring role here.
Porto will need to be at their best to cause a shock. But if they are, we could be in for a classic.
Benfica V Porto Betting
The league leaders rightly enter this clash as favourites. However, the Bet365 price of Evens underlines that it might not be easy for the hosts. Meanwhile, Porto can be backed at 3/1 while the draw is 11/5.
The action should be full of drama, but recent head-to-head fixtures suggest that goals could be at a premium. The rivals have met eight times since the start of 2014, and only two of those have had over 2.5 goals.
This stat, combined with the current league standings, is encouraging us to take the Under 2.25 goal line. Even if two goals are scored we’ll see a profit. If there’s none or just one, then we’ll be celebrating a full winner.
[quote_center]Under 2/2.5 goal line @ 9/10 with Bet365[/quote_center]It wouldn’t surprise us if the game is very cagey until the interval. However, it could open up after the break, especially as Porto need a win.
With this in mind we’re backing Benfica to find the breakthrough after half-time. And remember, if the game ends 0-0 then the bore draw money back special will kick in.
